In St Augstine, its cool and rainy but perfect. Cold beer, hot man, good music - what more can a gal ask for?

Via tarot.com: While many people are focused on their vacations, you are driven now to get your life and your career back in order. The Sun is in your 10th House of Public Responsibility, and it may be time to live up to your obligations -- to yourself and to loved ones. Instead of concentrating all your efforts today on getting ahead, leave some time to do something crazy, like having fun.

I think I've got a nice mix going on. I've already been to the store for cat food and a few items. Ate breakfast. Vacuumed and mopped living room floor. Put down some wooden board under the loveseat cushions (the love seat frame is sagging under the cushions, the board helps support the cushions). And adjusted the cover on the love seat.

Now I'm going to catch up on LJ, Craftster, and The Switchboards.

Then I'm going to start working my way through Photoshop For Dummies, create an excel database for my jewelry, tag & price pieces, and maybe create a few display items.

I also need to pull more stuff for yard sale, find cords for printer, print business cards, decide what I'm going to use to transport my show stuff in, sew table drape, buy table cloth... I'm sure there's more but I need to make a proper list later.

Tomorrow is St Augustine with [info]fragbert!

So see? fun/work and fun/fun, it's a win/win LOL

Office Depot update

  • Jul. 22nd, 2008 at 9:03 AM

The police have entered Office Depot. They have moved three employees out and into a nearby bank for medical treatment. One employee has been put on a gurney & being loaded into a ambulance. SWAT is inside looking for more employees and suspects.

What is it about that particular block???

  • Jul. 22nd, 2008 at 8:36 AM

First the Toys R Us now the Office Depot???

Police & SWAT surround Office Depot. Several big helicopters have been hovering overhead. I hope the employees are ok!

It was about 5 years ago that a man held the Toys R Us hostage. TRU is just a building or so away from the Office Depot.

Oh damn, just realized I was in that Office Depot yesterday morning. Eeep!

I had a wonderful roller coaster ride of a weekend with [info]james_the_evil1. I had so much fun!

Nom-nom-nom dinner at Jason's with [info]imortalbelovd and Dante Thursday.

Friday was spent hanging out, lunch at Shells, seeing Hellboy2, and swapping out my dead modem. Chicken'N'Porn2 lives Bwhahahaha!!!

It was Friday night that the bad started. Both [info]james_the_evil1 and I started feeling puny. He was full blown sick by Saturday morning. He slept most of the day and planned to go home later in the evening. However, he was still looking green around the edges when [info]imortalbelovd came by to pick me up. We finally convinced him to stay one more night and go to HotFlixx with us. After perusing the adult natured toys he felt well enough to eat a bit. Nothing pads out the stomach like pancakes at Denny's! We were even home in time for me to catch the newest BBCA Robin Hood.

[info]james_the_evil1 was up early this morning to head to work. I slept in as I was feeling pretty crummy. Moving slow and cautious today. Sipping on chicken soup and nibbling pb&j sandwich throughout the day.

I had a small pile of beadwork that was unfinished. I finally worked my way through it and finished 8 more pieces! Woot! I have 1 necklace that I need to buy some crystal Fireline to finish. I decided I wasn't happy with 2 necklaces but not sure yet if I want to just re-do them, or re-work completely. I'll look at them later this evening with fresh eyes.

This week I need to make necklace stands and start pulling my box of show stuff together :)

So after the previously mentioned Firefox crash, as I was nashing teeth & wailing, my phone rang. I was asked to come into for an interview. Ok, this would normally be a good thing. However... the gal couldn't or wouldn't tell me what the positions were. My spidey-senses just told me it wouldn't be worth anything. And I was right. Telemarketing. Bleh. At least it was close to home so I hadn't put too much effort into it. On the way home I stopped at an estate sale and scored about 20 old Playboys, going back to the mid-60's. Changed clothes and headed out to lunch with [info]james_the_evil1. Did some errands then much delight at Hellboy2. More errands then hanging out at home.

Notes to Self , re: bedroom make over plan

  • Jul. 17th, 2008 at 2:31 PM

I'm being firm with myself at committing to a time frame so I don't take on another project while I'm spazzing about C14. )
The colors I have decided on are Glidden: Molten Bronze for the ceiling, Last Tango for walls, and Burgundy for trim.

::big content cat-like stretch::
I'm just a big curvy purr-y walking talking embodiment of content today, full of biscotti and latte.

Spent nearly all day with [info]fragbert yesterday. Much fun and joy! I am so digging him, he is just an awesome positive to my life.

I was uber fix-it woman this morning too. Last night after I brought Geisha in for the night she started growling. A deep low gonna eat you up growl. Scared the hell out of me! I get up and look around the house, afraid of what might be in here with us. I find her in the living room, on the liquor cabinet by the door, looking out the front window. I flip on the porch light and peep out the window - there was another cat on the porch! It had pulled the screen loose on the corner of the door AGAIN! It ran away and Geisha settled down. So I went out first thing this morning and got a new roll of screen and spline. Hopefully this will keep the extra cat out :)

I'm starting to get rejection letters. The ones coming in now are for jobs I applied to the first week or so after my layoff. I'm taking this as a sign that hiring managers are inundated with application so still holding out hope for a couple of sweet positions from some time ago.

Off to finish my display mannequin and a couple of bead pieces.

HiDef luv

A contractor for Brighthouse pulled up at 8:35am! I just knew they wouldn't show until 9:59am LOL A couple of young'ens efficiently and pleasantly went to work: one grabbed a ladder and checked the wiring going into the house while the other connected my new cable box. I will have to call for a separate appointment for the cable modem but no biggie :)

Settles down for a couch potato day of HGTV-HD LOL

curious

  • Jul. 16th, 2008 at 8:18 AM

freewillastrology.com: In ancient Egypt, wealthy people adorned their pet crocodiles with gold bracelets, amulets, and other jewelry. Let's use that as a metaphor for you in the coming week. What is the most beastly and dangerous part of your psyche, and how might you beautify it? What steps could you take to civilize or ennoble your reptilian brain? Are there any ways you could make the crocodilian aspect of yourself look less scary and more inviting?

Ok Folks, I ask you - what aspect of myself should I make into a handbag and matching shoes?

I like this :)

I'm either going to paint, or cover with fabric, the plastic necklace displays. I may use the same spray paint I used on the elongated arm.

The body shape in the back will be painted and collaged. It is very lightweight so it needs a heavy base that will also increase it's height. I have this funky wire fan shape to attach to the top for more upward movement.

I'm also thinking of painting some henna designs onto the elongated arm display.

Well phoo! It looks like my cable modem is indeed dead. It powers up but after the initial run through of blinking lights, the cable indicator light goes out and stays out. I am moving my desktop step and needed a new longer cable anyways so I tried that one. Nope, still no cable light. I also tried it on the cable cord in the living room. Nada. I have Brighthouse scheduled tomorrow morning to upgrade to HD but don't know if he can replace my modem then or if I'll have to make another appointment.

Good thing I'm here during the day. ::smirk::

lightheaded

  • Jul. 13th, 2008 at 1:27 AM

This is so weird. I have had this odd lightheaded feeling for a couple days now. I'm fine sitting down but moving is something else. Almost like I've taken a pain pill and getting that onset buzz. I realized it actually started Thursday night. I thought I had a bit too much margarita, and hung out at [info]fragbert's for a bit. He made me some excellent coffee to 'sober' me up. However I noticed a slight stagger as I was leaving, even though I had felt fine in the house. I'm even having some slight muscle tremors, almost like I'm nauseous but I feel fine. It's just really odd.

its nearly 4pm???

  • Jul. 11th, 2008 at 3:57 PM

GoodGrief! Where did the day go??? I swear I only had two margarita's last night, and followed those up with food and coffee, there is no way I should be losing hours!

In reality, it has just been one of those 'desk work' busy days where tasks are taking time.

My folks stopped by about 8am to 'ooh & ahh!' over the new uber tv. My mom was also returning a couple loads of laundry she did for me. They do not pay for water like I do and this was stuff like spare sheets, pot holders, a huge comforter, etc - stuff I've been putting off doing cause I did not have an immediate need for them.

I performed my usual morning job search. Ugh, I'm starting to get rejection letters. I'm being perceived as over-qualified and therefore too expensive. The reality is that I am prepared to take a pay cut because 1) it will probably just be necessary to get established somewhere, and 2) it's an acceptable tradeoff for a non-soulsucking job.

Printed out coupons for my weekly trip to bank and grocery store. I saved about $12 bucks this time :) Of course the mail ran while I was out and filled my mailbox with coupons from Organic Valley - doh! One of my great frustrations is no CSA farms near me ::SOB:: Of course I fixed my outside water spigot once it was too late to plant, but its city water and I pay for every drop. Hmmm Maybe that will be one of my jobless projects - try to add a spigot to my capped artisan well. Then I could have drip hoses running... hmmmm ::puts on plotting...errr thinking cap::

Put away groceries and made a nom-nom-nom lunch. Cleaned out frig while I was putting away groceries.

Spent far too much time fiddling with my WAMU online banking. Damn thing would not accept my password, called 800 number, temp password sent, still won't accept, called again, locked account, spoke to another person, given another password, finally tried it in Explorer... and it worked. Set up mobile banking while I was signed in.

Then I log onto Brighthouse to upgrade my cable to HD. I'm actually going to be paying a few pennies less for the HD. Set appointment for next week.

Still on my list is move 401k to my IRA.

Ok,now that its all in text my day looks a bit more accomplished than it did in my head :)

For women who want to get a clue what a blow job feels like: I Got A Blow Job....

I'm suspicious and cautious of this one. A few years there was an 'incident' involving genital piercings that I'd rather not repeat LOL

I've always wanted to try this but the reviews confirm my suspicions LOL

Aren't these gorgeous?? hmmm I have a cousin that does woodworking... LOL

I swear I immediately thought of Oogie Boogie when I saw this ROFLMAO

Heh. I started out on a search for articles on relating to my previous post... and got a little side tracked. Oopsie ;)

a lightbulb moment so bright...

  • Jul. 8th, 2008 at 10:55 PM

I swear I'm seeing spots from this lightbulb moment!

I'm afraid if embrace my sexuality, if I give myself permission to be a sexual person, if I accept sexual interest from someone else... that I'll never be loved again.

And thats a very scary thought.

I am Woman, hear me Rawr!

tarot.com: Things are looking up, but you might have to face your own shadow before you can see the possibilities all around you. It's not about one specific deal or any single decision you need to make. It's about your overall attitude; if you believe that you're on your way to success, then you are. Put your intensity to work and make it happen.

I swear my lawn guy is a locust! I was up and moving about at 7:45am this morning. Part of my morning routine is to open the front door and the adjust the curtains so I can enjoy the morning light. When I stepped out of the front door to run errands - my lawn had been mowed! Obviously my yard guy had been here but-but-but- when??? the maybe 15 minutes I was in the shower & getting dressed??? or had he and his helpers mowed while I was sitting in the living, with full view of the front yard? was I so intent on my job search that I didn't notice them?

I'm thrilled he came & mowed today. With all the rain my yard has shot up to past ankle deep. But dang, he's speedy!
